About me

I have lived my life traveling around the world including stints in Japan, Taiwan, India, Kenya and now South Africa.  I studied photography in Berlin after which I worked for the German Press Agency (dpa) in Frankfurt where I could cover the ends of the cold war. I now live with my husband and three children in Johannesburg. Throughout my career, my photography has always emphasized portraits, fashion and art photography.  All these places and experiences have rooted in me a passion for diversity in culture across people, countries and continents. This is what I try to capture in my work as I hope to impose on everyone the beauty which can be found in the places I have been fortunate enough to see. I wish to share my perception of the cultures and places depicted my work with people across the world. I believe that the priority in my art lies in integrating and capturing a time or moment so that the viewer of my art gets an impression that goes beyond the sense of sight- I wish to recreate the spiritual and emotional fragment that I felt whilst creating my work.
